Condover Hall to Reach New Heights

Star Studded Launch of Children’s Adventure Centre

Leading school trip provider JCA will officially open Condover Hall in the heart of Shropshire on Friday 13th May, enabling students to enjoy unique and exciting curriculum led activities within the grounds of this impressive Grade I Elizabethan mansion. The £6 million stately home near Shrewsbury is being turned into an exciting children’s adventure centre after it was snapped up by JCA, part of the TUI Education group. Joined by adventurer and TV presenter Ben Fogle, ambassador and Olympian sports personality Dame Kelly Holmes and ‘jungle’ star and political figure Lembit Öpik, new owners JCA will ‘cut the ribbon’ at Condover Hall in front of local teachers and students.

Once the doors of this majestic venue have opened, visitors to the Condover Hall launch will experience a tour of the hall and grounds and see local primary school pupils showing off their entrepreneurial and creative writing skills in a bid to win a competition in the style of ‘The Apprentice’.

Ben Fogle, commented: “There is no better way to engage children in education than learning outside the classroom so I am delighted to be involved in the launch of Condover Hall. I’m really looking forward to meeting local teachers and students and showing them what this unique venue has to offer. I am very much looking forward to trying out the new state-of-the art high ropes and seeing what I will learn ”.

Dame Kelly Holmes added: “School trips are so important in education today, a great way of making kids active, they very often uncover new talents and help young people build their confidence. Venues like Condover Hall can be very inspiring to both students and teachers and I am sure they will love attending here”.

Providing a first-class venue for Learning Outside the Classroom, there is a varying range of activities for pupils in year four and above such as abseiling, archery, climbing, fencing and swimming, there will also be state-of-the-art themed rooms in the main building with tantalising names including the ‘Laser Room’ and the ‘Wizard Room’. As well as an entire programme of sporting events comprising Gullivers Sports Travel’s rugby festival and MasterClass’s basketball, football, hockey and netball tournaments for schools and clubs, English language course specialist EAC will host English language camps for juniors at the venue in July and August.

Janie Burt, Managing Director, JCA added: “We have been inundated with advanced bookings for Condover Hall and look forward to showing teachers the venue in all its splendour”.

Prices for a residential stay start from £39 per student per night, plus VAT. For further details call: 02392 222850 or visit www.jca-adventure.co.uk or
